Operations Manager - Competitive Salary from 25-35Mil/gross – Immediate Start

1. Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operational activities of our freight forwarding division. This role ensures that all shipments (Air/Ocean, Import/Export) are handled efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with industry regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate will drive team performance, streamline operational workflows, build strong relationships with carriers and overseas agents, and scale the team from the ground up to support sustainable business growth

2. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations (Air/Ocean, Import/Export, FCL/LCL), ensuring flawless execution of booking, documentation, customs clearance, and final delivery.

• Monitor daily workloads, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and optimize processes to ensure high accuracy, speed, and cost-efficiency.

• Enforce strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP), industry regulations, and safety standards.

• Lead, mentor, and supervise the operations team, ensuring balanced workload distribution and high staff performance.

• Take a pivotal role in shaping the team's structure, standardizing workflows, and setting a clear path for future development and scaling.

• Handle onboarding, training, and talent retention to foster a high-performing and collaborative working environment.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, shipping lines, co-loaders, and trucking/warehouse vendors.

• Negotiate competitive rates and service terms to maximize profit margins per shipment without compromising service quality.

• Collaborate closely with Sales and Business Development teams to support key account retention and expansion (with a focus on freehand and nominated businesses).

• Act as the primary escalation point for critical operational issues, delivering prompt and professional customer service solutions.

3. Key Requirements & Qualifications

3.1. Experience: Minimum 5 years of operational experience in the freight forwarding / logistics industry, particularly on the TP trade

3.2. Core Competencies:

• Deep knowledge of the freight forwarding / logistics industry procedures, documentation, Incoterms, and customs regulations.

• Proven experience in setting up workflows, building team structures from the ground up, or scaling operations.

• Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and the ability to stay calm and decisive under high pressure.

3.3. Skills & Software:

• Proficiency in logistics software and advanced MS Excel.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Language: Professional working proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
