Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (HSE)

Role Purpose:

• To provide on-site occupational health support, first aid, emergency response, and employee health services in compliance with legal requirements, customer standards, and company policies. The role supports workplace health programs, incident prevention, and employee well-being.

What you will do (Key Responsibilities):

1. First Aid & Emergency Response

• Provide immediate first aid and medical support for employees during workplace incidents, injuries, or health emergencies.

• Assess employee conditions and coordinate referral to external medical facilities when required.

• Maintain readiness of first aid equipment, emergency supplies, and medical facilities.

• Propose the proper SOP on health and emergency management system and participate in emergency response drills and support emergency preparedness activities.

• Conduct training for employees related to First Aids, Health awareness program including the tailored program by Company or legal requirement.

2. Incident Investigation & Injury Management

• Participate in workplace incidents and injury investigations as a medical representative.

• Provide medical input regarding injury severity, treatment provided, and potential health-related contributing factors.

• Support the investigation team in identifying root causes and corrective actions related to workplace health and safety.

• Review injury trends and medical records to identify recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.

• Maintain accurate records of workplace injuries, first aid cases, and medical treatment provided.

• Support follow-up of injured employees and monitor recovery status before returning to work.

3. Occupational Health Management

• Act as a member of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Committee as required by regulations.

• Support occupational health risk assessments and workplace health improvement programs.

• Monitor employee health conditions and provide appropriate health advice.

• Coordinate and arrange health examinations and occupational health surveillance programs.

• Maintain employee medical records and ensure confidentiality of health information.

4. Medical Room Management

• Manage daily operations of the factory medical room in compliance with legal requirements.

• Ensure availability and proper management of medicines, medical supplies, and first aid equipment.

• Monitor inventory levels and arrange replenishment when required.

• Maintain medical documentation, treatment records, and reporting.

• Ensure country / regional assurance that all sites comply with environmental legislation, including effluent discharge standards, emissions, waste management, and chemical regulations.

• Support and lead engagement with regulatory authorities for escalated inspections, audits, reporting, or enforcement matters.

• Lead country / regional HSE audits using the Global HSE Audit template, validating effectiveness of corrective actions and sharing cross‑site learnings.

5. Employee Health Support & Consultation

• Provide health consultation and guidance to employees.

• Support management of occupational illnesses, workplace injuries, and employee health concerns.

• Promote health awareness programs such as health education, hygiene, and wellness activities.

6. Compliance & Reporting

• Support compliance with local occupational health and safety regulations and customer requirements.

• Prepare medical reports, injury records, and health-related statistics.

• Support internal audits, customer audits, and government inspections related to occupational health.

• Coordinate with external medical service providers when required.

7. Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with HSE, HR, Production, and external healthcare providers.

• Provide recommendations to improve workplace health and employee welfare.

• Support the implementation of company health and safety initiatives.

• At least 2-3 years working experience in occupational health with know and factory working environment with valid professional medical qualification/license according to local legal requirements.

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing, Medicine, or related healthcare field.

• Valid professional medical qualification/license according to local legal requirements.

• Experience in occupational health, factory medical services, emergency care, or incident investigation support is preferred.

• Knowledge of first aid, workplace health, and occupational safety requirements.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good command in English communication

• Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations.
