ROLE

Responsible for leading and managing the IT function across all GBC Engineers offices, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure and systems. Defines IT strategy aligned with business objectives, oversees team performance, manages vendor relationships, and coordinates with German HQ on group-wide IT standards and initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. IT Strategy & Planning (30%)

Strategy & Governance

• Define and execute the IT strategy for GBC Engineers' regional offices in alignment with business objectives and group IT standards.

• Coordinate with German HQ IT team on group-wide technology initiatives, standards, and compliance requirements.

• Manage the IT budget across all offices; ensure cost-effective procurement and resource allocation.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and systems to improve operational efficiency.

2. Infrastructure, Security & Operations (40%)

Systems & Infrastructure

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud services, and end-user systems.

• Ensure maximum availability, performance, and reliability of all IT systems and services across all office locations.

• Lead IT security strategy including data protection policies, access controls, backup procedures, and incident response.

• Manage vendor and service provider relationships; negotiate contracts and SLAs to ensure quality delivery.

3. Team Leadership & Service Delivery (30%)

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team across all locations; set clear performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.

• Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and SOPs to ensure consistent and compliant service delivery.

• Oversee IT helpdesk and support operations; ensure timely resolution of issues and high user satisfaction.

• Plan and manage IT projects including office setup, system upgrades, and migrations from initiation to completion.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 7 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or team-lead role.

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure across multiple office locations.

• Strong knowledge of networking, server administration (Windows/Linux), cloud platforms, and

IT security.

• Experience with IT project management, vendor negotiation, and budget management.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment and coordinate with overseas HQ teams.

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 7 years of IT experience including 3 years in a management role.

• Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, networking, and IT security.

• Proven ability to manage IT teams and deliver projects across multiple locations.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills in an international context.

Desirable

• Prior experience in a civil engineering, structural design, or construction-related company is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of German language or experience working in a German/European company environment is a plus.
