1. ROLE OBJECTIVE

• The Chief Enterprise Architect (CEA) is responsible for defining and driving the bank's enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring technology capabilities are aligned with business objectives and long-term digital transformation priorities.
• This role provides strategic leadership across business, application, data, and technology architecture, establishing a scalable, secure, resilient, and future-ready technology ecosystem.
• The CEA will lead Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Solution Architecture (SA) teams, establish architecture governance frameworks, and guide technology modernization and investment decisions across the organization.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Governance
• Define and execute the enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and long-term roadmap.
• Establish and oversee architecture governance frameworks, ensuring alignment between business strategy and technology investments.
• Lead architecture review and decision-making processes, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance across technology initiatives.
• Technology Transformation & Modernization
• Drive enterprise-wide architecture modernization, including core banking systems, digital platforms, and legacy applications.
• Guide the adoption of cloud, microservices, API-first, and event-driven architecture.
• Ensure seamless integration, interoperability, security, and operational resilience across enterprise systems.
• Data, AI & Emerging Technologies
• Collaborate with Data, AI, Security, and Technology leadership to ensure enterprise-wide architectural alignment.
• Establish architecture principles and standards supporting Data Platforms, Generative AI, and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate technology trends and recommend architectural improvements supporting business innovation.
• Architecture Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead and develop Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture teams.
• Work closely with senior executives, business leaders, and technology stakeholders to translate business priorities into architecture solutions.
• Advise executive management on architecture strategy, technology investments, risks, and transformation priorities.
• Establish architecture performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in architecture maturity.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in technology, software engineering, or enterprise architecture, including at least 5 years in senior architecture leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading enterprise architecture functions within large, complex organizations, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Demonstrated success in enterprise-wide digital transformation, legacy modernization, and architecture governance.
• Experience managing Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture teams.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, particularly TOGAF; familiarity with BIAN is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of hybrid/multi-cloud architecture, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise integration.
• Knowledge of Data Architecture, AI platforms, Generative AI, and emerging technology architecture.
• Strong understanding of security architecture, technology risk, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive enterprise-wide technology change.

Preferred Qualifications

• TOGAF or relevant cloud architecture certifications.
• Experience with banking technology ecosystems, core banking modernization, and large-scale architecture transformation.
• Postgraduate degree in Technology, Engineering, or Business-related disciplines is an advantage.
