Responsibilities

Under the guidance and mentorship of the Associate Partner and Senior Consultants, the Agrifood Sustainability Intern will contribute across four main areas:

Research & Market Intelligence

• Conduct desk research on agrifood value chains, market trends, and emerging sustainability challenges across the sector.
• Track relevant ESG regulations, policies, certifications, and industry standards (e.g., EUDR, product carbon footprints, traceability, food safety).
• Help build and maintain GT's internal knowledge hub by developing practical briefs, fact sheets, benchmark studies, and presentation materials.

Solution Development & Innovation

• Help translate research and industry requirements into commercial ESG tools, frameworks, and assessment methodologies.
• Support the refinement of service offerings tailored to agrifood businesses, focusing on areas like sustainable supply chains, deforestation, and responsible sourcing.
• Assist senior team members in drafting service concept notes, proposal decks, case studies, and business development materials.

Client Project & Technical Support

• Support live ESG and sustainability consulting engagements for corporate agrifood clients.
• Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing client sustainability data under the supervision of project leads.
• Contribute directly to project deliverables, including client presentations, gap assessments, benchmarking reports, and strategic recommendations.

Industry Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement

• Map out key sector stakeholders, including agribusinesses, industry associations, technical solution providers, and research institutions.
• Help draft collaboration proposals, joint service concepts, and outreach materials to build strategic industry partnerships.
• Assist in coordinating stakeholder meetings, webinars, and networking events, while tracking potential business opportunities in the agrifood space.

Education and Training Background

Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food Science, Economics, Business, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field.

Work Experience: Not required; prior experience in research, consulting support, or sustainability-related projects is an asset.
