We are rebuilding our engineering workflow around AI agents  — we are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who direct them well and know when to trust them. You will work closely with a talented engineering team in an Agile environment, contributing to all stages of product development — from architecture design, coding, code review, to production operations.

Our product is a next-generation social platform that integrates social media, personalized feed, rating & review systems, community engagement, social gamification, real-time chat, and merchant services. The platform is built with a complex microservice architecture, designed to handle millions of users, massive data streams, and high concurrent traffic efficiently.

The system is deeply integrated with AI, leveraging machine learning and large language models (LLMs) to enable content understanding, recommendation, fraud detection, and intelligent moderation. You will have the opportunity to work closely with AI engineers to design scalable APIs, data pipelines, and backend infrastructures that power these intelligent features across the social ecosystem.

Mô tả công việc

• Design, develop, and operate backend services that stay correct and available at millions of users, and degrade gracefully instead of collapsing when something upstream fails.
• Build and integrate APIs and event-driven services (REST, gRPC, Kafka) along with external third-party systems.
• Use AI coding tools heavily, and take full responsibility for everything you ship with them
• Own the architecture decisions that are expensive to reverse: service boundaries, data modeling, failure modes, migration sequencing.
• Optimize performance and data access across our stores (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, HBase, ClickHouse), choosing by access pattern rather than familiarity.
• Treat user content reaching models as untrusted input. On a UGC platform, prompt injection is a production security concern, and input handling, output validation, and PII redaction have to match.
• Build the data and feature plumbing our ML systems depend on — streaming features, batch scoring, analytics pipelines.

Fundamentals (these matter more now, not less)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years building and operating backend systems that real users depend on.
• Solid grasp of OOP, design patterns, concurrency, memory management, and profiling.
• Depth in at least one statically-typed language on a managed runtime, in production. We work on the JVM (Java/Vertx); if your depth is elsewhere, we'll trade ramp-up time for judgment.
• Proficiency across SQL and NoSQL stores (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, HBase, or similar) — including knowing which one a problem actually calls for.
• Experience with OLAP / analytics pipelines / data warehousing (ClickHouse, BigQuery, or equivalent).
• Comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud.
• Sense of ownership: you follow your service into production and you're on the hook when it misbehaves.

AI-era expectations

• You work fluently with AI coding assistants and agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) — and you can articulate where they help, where they hurt, and how you verify their output. 
• Builder mindset.
  You ship whole things, not tickets. Agents made unfamiliar territory cheap to enter, so the line between "my layer" and "someone else's" matters less than it used to — you'll prototype the frontend to prove a feature works, write the migration, tune the query, debug the deploy.
• You build tooling that made you and your team faster.
