Senior Advocacy Officer

Responsible for the coordination and activities of 3-4 assigned EuroCham’s Sector Committees (SCs), while driving operational and teamwork efficiency across the wider Advocacy team:

Sector Committee Coordination

• Lead and timely coordinate the daily activities, projects, and events for the assigned SCs.

• Organise and follow-up SCs' meetings, ongoing activities/projects, and events.

• Maintain internal and external information flows and contact with key stakeholders.

• Monitor SCs' administrative and operational activities, including membership and payments, etc.

Strategic Advocacy & Legal Support

• Monitor the industrial and trade developments, updates of laws, regulations and policies in Vietnam in close cooperation with the Government, the EU Delegation to Vietnam and other key EuroCham partners.

• Consolidate SCs' comments on new legislations, supporting the preparation of the SCs' correspondence (letters, position papers, etc.) mainly with Government authorities.

• Support the coordination of cross-sector initiatives and joint contributions, ensuring strategic coherence and alignment with EuroCham’s advocacy priorities to maximise overall advocacy impact.

• Assist the Advocacy Manager in delivering key EuroCham advocacy activities, including the preparation of the position papers contributing to the annual publication of the Whitebook and the organisation of the Whitebook Launch.

Operational Leadership

• Supervise and coordinate the team operations, cross-department projects – ensuring streamlined workflows and consolidated reporting.

• Identify workflow gaps and optimize operational processes, facilitate the development and refinement of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to strengthen collaboration among SCs and within Advocacy team.

• Partner closely with the Advocacy Manager on strategic Sector Committee optimization initiatives to enhance committee performance and organizational efficiency.

• Support onboarding and provide guidance and mentorship to new and junior team members to systematically build overall team capacity.

• Actively support to the Advocacy Manager on team development and long-term capability mapping to reinforce a sustainable succession plan for the Advocacy team.

• Other relevant tasks as assigned by the Advocacy Manager.

Education and Training Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, International Relations, Political Sciences, Business Administration, or in a related field.

• Legal background is strongly preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant and hands-on experience in policy advocacy, legal assistance, and operation or project management.

Work Experience

• Proven track record of working with issues related to sustainability, environmental policy, and green technology (specific experience with Green Growth initiatives is highly advantageous).

Management & Team Experience

• No direct line management experience required, yet a strong track record of successfully working within cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams, coupled with the ability to oversee team operations and workflows.

Core Competencies

• Excellent time, workload and stakeholder management skills;

• Excellent communication skills in English and Vietnamese (written and verbal);

• A proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership and leadership;

• Flexible, highly-motivated and proactive/can-do attitude;

• Capable of multitasking and managing administrative tasks;

• Good budgetary control, negotiation skills and problem-solving skills with a constructive approach;

• Strong commitment and faithfulness to EuroCham and prioritising the

Chamber’s interests.

Software Skills

• Good command of English and Vietnamese

Software Skills

Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
