R&D Engineer

1. New Product Research & Development: Receive requirements from customers/sales, analyze technical specifications and quality standards, build BOM and design new products (mechanical/cable harness/electrical components) that meet technical, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
2. Design & Simulation: Create technical drawings (2D/3D) using CAD/SolidWorks, perform calculations and simulations to verify design feasibility before moving to the prototyping stage.
3. Prototype & Testing: Plan prototype builds, coordinate with model shops/suppliers to fabricate prototypes; develop test plans, conduct testing, evaluate results against technical standards, and propose design improvements.
4. Design Transfer to NPI/Production: Finalize technical documentation (drawings, BOM, inspection standards, preliminary work instructions) and coordinate with the NPI team to transfer products from R&D to pilot production, ensuring consistency and mass-production readiness.
5. Product Evaluation & Improvement: Participate in root-cause analysis of issues arising during development and trial production; propose improvements to design, materials, and processes to enhance quality and reduce cost.
6. Cross-functional Coordination: Work with Planning, Quality, Purchasing, NPI, and Production departments to ensure new product development timelines are met and material/risk issues are controlled.
7. Reporting & Advisory: Advise the Team Leader/Engineering Manager on technical issues related to product design and development.
8. Other tasks assigned by the manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• At least 03 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in injection molding/cable harness.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, cable, and basic analog circuit design. PCBA is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools (DoE, SPC) is a plus.
• Experience with IATF 16949, 5 core tools is a plus.
• Proficient in CAD, Solidworks (or equivalent mechanical design software).
• Ability to read and create technical drawings and BOM standards.
• Strong planning, organizing, and project management skills for product development.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills; strong teamwork and cross-department coordination ability.
