Mô tả công việc Inventory Management Analyst

Position Summary

The Analyst, Inventory Management is accountable for analyzing inventory health and converting inventory data into actions that improve product availability, stock utilization, working capital, and network balance across 7 master distribution centers and 30 regional distribution centers.

The role monitors excess, aging, days of supply, inventory turns, imbalances, and set-component availability; identifies root causes; and works with U.S.-based and global stakeholders to execute practical corrective and preventive actions.

Scope of Responsibility

Inventory and Distribution Network Scope

The role operates across the end-to-end planning process and supports decisions spanning:

  1. Inventory health across 7 master distribution centers and 30 regional distribution centers.
  2. Excess, obsolete, aging, slow-moving, and imbalanced inventory exposure.
  3. Inventory balancing through replenishment, transfers, reallocations, and other approved actions.
  4. Multi-component, set, and kit inventory where missing components can make a complete product unavailable or unsellable.
  5. Inventory implications of forecast error, overbuying, supplier performance, lead times, product transitions, and network positioning.
  6. SQL queries, BI reporting, exception analysis, and AI-enabled productivity supporting inventory decisions.

Team and Functional Scope

This is an individual-contributor role within Inventory Management. The Analyst owns assigned analyses, exceptions, recommendations, reporting, and action follow-up. The role is expected to work independently, maintain data accuracy, escalate material risk, and build scalable tools and standard work as business needs evolve.

Primary Outcomes

  1. Accurate and timely visibility to inventory risks and opportunities.
  2. Reduced excess, obsolete, aging, and stranded inventory exposure.
  3. Improved inventory balance and utilization across the distribution network.
  4. Improved availability of complete sets and multi-component products.
  5. Clear recommendations with quantified service and working-capital impact.
  6. Reliable reporting, disciplined follow-through, and scalable analytical processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Health Monitoring and Exception Management

Monitor inventory turns, days of supply, aging, excess and obsolete inventory, service risk, and other defined inventory-health measures.

Identify material trends, anomalies, and exceptions; quantify the impact; and escalate issues with clear recommended actions.

Maintain action logs and follow corrective actions through closure rather than stopping at reporting.

Distinguish structural inventory problems from temporary movement, timing, or data issues.

Excess and Obsolete Inventory Management

Support the excess inventory KPI and analyze root causes such as forecast error, overbuying, slow movement, product transitions, supplier minimums, and network imbalance.

Identify prevention, redeployment, consumption, and disposition opportunities in partnership with Planning, Purchasing, Product, Finance, and commercial stakeholders.

Quantify financial exposure and expected benefit before recommending action.

Track whether approved actions reduce exposure and prevent recurrence.

Network Inventory Balancing

Analyze inventory positions across master and regional distribution centers to identify shortages, surpluses, and misalignment with demand.

Recommend transfers, reallocations, replenishment changes, or other approved actions that improve utilization and service without creating unnecessary transportation or handling cost.

Consider projected demand, lead time, inbound supply, service priority, and transfer economics when developing recommendations.

Coordinate execution with responsible stakeholders and verify that approved actions are completed.

Set and Component Inventory Management

Monitor component-level inventory for sets, kits, and multi-component products.

Identify mismatched component coverage that may create incomplete, stranded, or unsellable positions.

Calculate the limiting component and the number of complete sets available or at risk.

Recommend component balancing, replenishment, transfer, or disposition actions and track recovery.

Reporting, Analytics, and Data Quality

Build and maintain SQL queries, Power BI reports, recurring scorecards, and ad hoc analyses supporting inventory decisions.

Validate data definitions, sources, refresh timing, and reconciliation before distributing analysis.

Translate data into conclusions, financial and service implications, recommended actions, owners, and timing.

Document logic and create repeatable analytical methods that can be sustained by the team.

AI, Automation, and Continuous Improvement

Use Microsoft Copilot, AI, and automation tools to accelerate analysis, improve communication, and reduce repetitive manual work.

Apply appropriate human review and data protection when using AI-enabled tools.

Identify opportunities to simplify inventory processes, improve controls, and increase team capacity.

Support development of standard operating procedures, templates, and exception-based workflows.

Key Cross-Functional Relationships

Works closely with Forecasting, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Sales and Commercial teams, Product and Merchandising, Procurement and Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics and Transportation, Distribution, Finance, Data and Technology, and U.S.-based business stakeholders. The role must convert analysis into coordinated action across functions and locations.

Performance Measures

  1. Inventory turns, days of supply, aging, and excess or obsolete exposure.
  2. Inventory balance, transfer effectiveness, and stock utilization across the network.
  3. Complete-set availability and reduction of component imbalance.
  4. Quality, accuracy, and timeliness of analysis and reporting.
  5. Closure of assigned inventory actions and recurrence reduction.
  6. Value delivered through analytics, automation, and process improvement.
