As part of its continued growth in Vietnam, our client is looking for a senior technology leader to strengthen and scale its engineering organization.

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to provide senior leadership across technology, engineering and delivery.

The role combines engineering organization leadership, technology strategy, architecture, delivery excellence and people development, while working closely with international stakeholders and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and scale the engineering organization in Vietnam.
• Define and execute engineering and technology strategies aligned with business and client requirements.
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership across software architecture, system design and engineering solutions.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, development practices and architecture governance.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, security and quality of technology solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence across cloud, microservices, APIs, CI/CD, containerization and modern software development practices.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex engineering and client requirements.
• Work closely with Product, Delivery, Sales and international technology teams to ensure effective execution.
• Support client engagement, technical consulting and presales activities where required.
• Develop and retain engineering talent through mentoring, career development and technical capability building.
• Lead capacity planning, resource allocation and engineering productivity.
• Build and strengthen engineering capabilities and technical communities in Vietnam.
• Drive continuous improvement across delivery quality, engineering efficiency and technical innovation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology, with significant experience in senior engineering leadership.
• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams or organizations.
• Strong technical background in software architecture, system design and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with technologies such as Java / Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, Kafka, cloud platforms, Docker / Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable enterprise architectures.
• Experience in Banking, Financial Services or FinTech is a must!
• Experience working with international clients and/or global technology organizations.
• Strong understanding of software delivery and engineering lifecycle management.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and executive audiences.
• Experience in technology consulting, presales or client-facing technical leadership is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related technical discipline.
