CNC ENGINEER

JOB PURPOSE
Develop and optimize CNC programs to produce complex components with precision, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
Monitor and maintain machining processes to meet quality standards, minimizing errors and material waste.
Analyze and improve machining processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and lower production costs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
CNC Programming: Develop, test, and optimize 5-axis CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., PowerMill) and G-code to meet precise engineering specifications.
Machine Setup: Configure 3 - 5 axis CNC milling machines, including selecting and installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces, ensuring proper alignment and calibration for complex geometries.
Operation: Operate 3 - 5 axis CNC mills to produce intricate parts with tight tolerances, monitoring performance to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Quality Assurance: Inspect machined components using precision measuring tools (e.g., CMM, micrometers, calipers) to verify compliance with technical drawings and GD&T standards.
Process Optimization: Analyze and refine 3 - 5 axis machining processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize material waste while maintaining quality.
Tooling and Material Selection: Choose appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and materials (e.g., aluminum, steel) to achieve optimal machining results for complex parts.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of programs, setups, tool paths, and inspection results for traceability and process improvement.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in 3 - 5 axis milling technology and propose innovative solutions to enhance production capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in 3 - 5 axis CNC milling, including programming, setup, and operation in a precision manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., PowerMill) for 3 - 5 axis programming.
Expertise in G-code programming and toolpath optimization for complex geometries
Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Familiarity with materials such as metals (aluminum, titanium, steel) and composites.
English communication skills.
