The Wildlife Crime Unit (WCU) is central to ENV’s mission to combat wildlife trafficking in Vietnam. Our dedicated and highly trained team works closely with law enforcement agencies and partners nationwide to respond to wildlife crime reports received through ENV’s toll‑free hotline 1800‑1522. Together, we take decisive action against wildlife trafficking and safeguard Vietnam’s biodiversity.

ENV is seeking a highly motivated Vietnamese candidate to join the Wildlife Crime Unit (WCU) as Senior Wildlife Protection Officer. In this role, you will carry out core responsibilities as a team member while also taking on a leadership role, supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior staff to ensure accountability and high quality performance. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact in the fight against wildlife crime in Vietnam.

Main Responsibilities

• Share responsibility for overseeing WCU operations and promptly report any issues to the Management Board.

• Collaborate in supervising and supporting junior staff to ensure effective performance.

• Contribute to managing the wildlife crime database, ENV’s online tracking system, by ensuring accurate documentation, monitoring, and case management.

• Lead daily staff meetings and provide guidance to ensure progress and resolution of all wildlife crime cases.

• Manage WCU’s supplemental document system

• Handle routine administrative tasks within the WCU

• Communicate effectively with the team leader and manager

• Conduct field surveys independently and produce detailed quality reports

• Provide daily report updates of the WCU

• Complete other duties and assignments as specified by the WCU Manager and Management Board.

Strong language skills combined with key personal qualities, including:

• Ability to produce detailed and highly accurate work

• Excellent spoken Vietnamese, particularly in persuasion and negotiation

• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills

• Logical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making

• Proficiency in English writing, speaking, and translation

• Excellent written Vietnamese, including professional document writing

• Patience and perseverance, ability to work under high pressure.
