OUTLINE THE FOCUS OF THIS POSITION

CAD Technician (Retail) / Junior Retail Architect will play a key role in supporting the Design team, as a part of larger Project Management Team across drafting, architectural coordination, and joinery production support functions. This position involves providing technical joinery detail drafting, construction drawing preparation, and assisting with administrative coordination throughout various retail projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong architectural drafting capabilities, strong understanding of retail architecture details, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to work across multiple retail projects in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Store Development Support:

• Assist with project planning and coordination from concept through to completion

• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution

• Provide remote project management support, monitor progress, and assist in resolving issues as they arise

2D Drafting

• Prepare accurate architectural drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using CAD software

• Ensure all drawings comply with briefed relevant building codes, standards, and project requirements

• Coordinate with other team members and Project Management Team to incorporate feedback and update drawings as required

Architectural Services

• Assist in space planning and layout optimization to maximize both functionality and aesthetics

• Contribute innovative ideas and practical solutions to enhance retail and hospitality environments

• Support the development and implementation of architectural packages for retail concessions and hospitality projects

Administration

• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to drafting, architectural services, and Design team library

• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and project-related documentation as required

• Support administrative coordination including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing correspondence

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) and other relevant drafting tools

• Strong understanding of architectural principles, construction detailing, joinery production detailing, building codes, and regulations

• Ability to work well as a team with strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently within project deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

• Basic English communication skills required to elaborate design brief from team lead and HQ

• Knowledge of 3D software is a plus, but not mandatory

• Experience in retail architecture / shopfitting is highly regarded
