Position Overview:

Our Vietnam team is the engine of Everfit. Currently around 170 people, roughly 150 in Da Nang and 20 in Hanoi, who built the product that’s made us a category leader in 6 years since launch .

The next chapter is about unlocking what this team is capable of moving faster but with extreme precision, building with AI in every workflow, and operating at the level of the best companies in the world.

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to build reliable, scalable systems that power Everfit’s continued growth. You will design and develop backend services and APIs, improve system performance and architecture, and deliver secure, high-quality solutions that support our products and users at scale.

Your impact:

Backend Development & Architecture

• Develop, test, and maintain reliable, scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs that support Everfit’s products, users, and integrations.
• Contribute to the evolution of our microservices architecture, data models, and backend infrastructure.
• Translate business and customer requirements into secure, high-performance technical solutions.
• Make thoughtful technical decisions that balance delivery speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

Engineering Quality

• Write clean, testable, observable, and maintainable code.
• Participate actively in code reviews, sharing constructive feedback and learning from other engineers.
• Build automated tests and monitoring to improve system reliability and prevent regressions.
• Identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks, then collaborate with the team to address them.
• Contribute to clear technical documentation and consistent engineering standards.

AI-First Engineering

• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review workflows.
• Explore practical ways to integrate AI capabilities into Everfit’s products and backend services.
• Share effective AI workflows, tools, and learnings with the engineering team.
• Apply sound engineering judgment when reviewing and validating AI-generated solutions.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA, Design, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality features.
• Participate in scrum rituals, technical discussions, prototyping, and solution design.
• Communicate technical considerations, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate across squads on shared services, platform standards, and system integrations.
• Take ownership of features throughout their lifecycle—from discovery and development to release, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Your Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience working with Node.js (ES6).
• Intermediate English communication skills — you're willing to grow with us.
• Experienced with microservices and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and backend architecture.
• Experienced with Express.js, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiar with unit testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha, and passionate about code quality.
• Able to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

[Nice to have]

• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, ECS, Lambda).
• Familiarity with message queues (e.g., Kafka, SQS).
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, ECS).
• Familiar with authentication/authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).
