Position Summary

A. The Senior Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all footwear manufactured within his/her factories responsibility meets REEF’s requirements, approved specifications, quality standards, and performance expectations.

B. The position focuses on preventing quality defects rather than detecting them at final inspection, ensuring quality is built into every stage of the manufacturing process.

C. The Senior QA will work closely with his senior manager, production, technical, engineering, and quality teams to drive consistent product quality, process compliance, and continual improvement.

Responsibilities

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Quality Assurance Management

● Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with approved REEF quality standards and requirements.

● Monitor quality performance throughout the complete manufacturing process.

● Establish and maintain effective quality assurance procedures and controls.

● Identify potential quality risks before they affect bulk production.

● Ensure production consistently matches approved confirmation samples and technical specifications.

● Verify that corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

● Promote a strong quality-first culture throughout the factory.

B. Production Quality Monitoring

● Conduct regular production floor audits covering cutting, stitching, lasting, assembly and packing.

● Verify that operators follow approved manufacturing procedures and workmanship standards.

● Identify process weaknesses and potential causes of product defects.

● Ensure critical manufacturing operations have appropriate process controls.

● Monitor quality performance during production start-up, line changes, and new model introductions.

● Verify that approved materials, components, and manufacturing methods are used.

● Work with production management to resolve recurring quality issues.

C. Technical Quality Assurance

● Ensure footwear construction meets approved technical specifications.

● Verify correct product fit, shape, appearance, and comfort requirements.

● Monitor critical manufacturing processes, including:

● Inbound control and Inspection of materials and components

● Stitching quality and attention to detail integrity.

● Lasting and critical upper positioning.

● Adhesive application and bonding processes.

● Molded and component quality.

● Footbed hardness and comfort.

● Product finishing and product integrity.

● Packing/ Labelling checks.

● Assist our CI team on factory continual improvement and introduction of REEF best practices.

● Ensure the correct use of approved jigs, gauges, templates, and measuring equipment.

● Confirm that all required product and material testing has been completed and meets specifications.

D. Quality Audits and Inspections

● Conduct regular internal REEF quality process audits.

● Verify the effectiveness of inline and end-of-line quality controls.

● Review final inspection results and AQL failures to identify systemic quality risks.

● Ensure inspection findings are communicated to relevant departments.

● Verify that rejected products are correctly identified, segregated, and controlled.

E. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions

● Lead Bi-Weekly factory quality meetings to work and track the below -

● Lead investigations into significant and recurring quality problems.

● Identify root causes using structured problem-solving methods.

● Apply appropriate tools such as 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams

● Coordinate corrective and preventive action plans with responsible departments.

● Establish clear responsibilities and completion deadlines.

● Verify corrective action effectiveness and prevent recurrence.

● Escalate unresolved quality risks to factory management.

F. Continual Improvement

● Assist our CI team on factory continual improvement and introduction of REEF best practices.

● Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.

● Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.

● Promote and initiate where possible best practices across production departments.

● Support the introduction of improved tools, jigs, equipment, and manufacturing methods.

● Encourage team participation in quality improvement initiatives.

G. Quality Reporting and Performance Monitoring.

● Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports when applicable

● Monitor key quality indicators,

● Lead Bi-Weekly factory quality meetings to work and track the factory key measurable data.

H. Training and Quality Awareness

● Support the training and development of our team’s QC inspectors and production personnel.

● Ensure factory operators understand critical quality requirements.

● Conduct quality awareness sessions covering common defects and prevention methods.

● Share lessons learned from quality failures.

● Promote accountability for quality at every production stage.

● Reinforce the principle that quality is the responsibility of everyone involved in manufacturing.

2.AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

A. The Senior QA is expected to:

● Raise immediate concerns when manufacturing processes do not meet approved requirements.

● Recommend production stoppages when serious quality risks are identified, following the factory’s escalation procedure.

● Reject nonconforming materials, components, or finished products in accordance with delegated authority.

● Request corrective actions from responsible departments.

● Escalate unresolved issues directly to senior factory management.

● Verify that quality concerns are effectively resolved before affected production is released.

The Senior QA must maintain independent and objective quality judgments, regardless of production pressure or delivery commitments.

The Senior QA must focus on preventing defects at source, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring every product meets the required quality standards before reaching the customer.

4.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

● Minimum 10+ years of experience in footwear manufacturing quality functions.

● At least 3 years in a senior QA, quality engineering, or quality supervisory position.

● Strong technical understanding of footwear manufacturing processes.

● Experience managing quality issues in high-volume manufacturing environments.

● Familiarity with international footwear brands and customer quality expectations.

● Familiar with the processes of development and commercialization

● Good verbal and written English communication skills in a global business setting

● Chinese Mandarin languages skills helpful

● Good computer skills (Microsoft software, SharePoint, Pivot 88 are a plus)

● Candidates must be analytical, understand statistics, math and scientific protocols
