The position

53 sites. Around 2,500 specialized workstations. One healthcare company being born. A global healthcare leader is looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer in Vietnam to become a cornerstone of its IT. You will keep the systems running that labs, production lines and quality teams cannot work without, from instruments to GxP applications to legacy machines. As a versatile generalist, you will troubleshoot across Windows, identity, endpoint security, monitoring and backup, and lead the way when incidents strike. You will start as a fully integrated member of an established global team. Over the next 18 months you will master the environment and earn the trust of the people who depend on it. Then the organization separates and you step up to carry the core independently, with a clear pathway to technical lead. Spin-offs like this come once in a career.

What you’ll be doing 

• Own the estate: Keep ~2,500 workstations healthy and secure: OS lifecycles, patching, endpoint tools, backups and monitoring. When you coordinate a change, people listen.
• Master the environment (first 18 months): Work side by side with an established global team. Learn every quirk, build real relationships with lab and manufacturing colleagues, and take ownership early.
• Lead when it matters: Run complex incident investigations, drive containment and recovery, and fix root causes so problems never come back.
• Keep it compliant: Find and fix non-compliant or unmonitored devices, validate assets, remediate remotely and support audits with confidence.
• Tame the unusual: Support lab instruments, manufacturing systems, GxP applications and legacy hardware that most engineers never touch.
• Automate and improve: Script away repetitive checks and remediation, cut technical debt and make diagnostics faster for everyone.
• Share what you know: Write the runbooks, procedures and recovery guides that become the new organization’s playbook, and train others on them.
• Step into the lead role: Once the organization separates, carry the core of the environment independently and grow with it into technical leadership.

Your Skills and Experience

 

Skills

• Exceptional English & Communication: Highly proficient spoken and written English. You explain complex risks and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and global management.
• Pharmaceutical Background: Experience in pharmaceutical, life-sciences or clinical lab environments.
• Generalist IT & Windows Management: Strong, broad enterprise Windows experience, including Active Directory, GPO, PowerShell, patching, software distribution and backup tools.
• Endpoint Security: Solid understanding of endpoint security controls and privileged access.
• Observability & Backup: Knowledge of enterprise backup, CMDB and monitoring systems.
• Infrastructure Troubleshooting: You follow a problem across OS, applications, networking, identity and hardware until you find the cause.
• Controlled Processes: Experience with formal change management and technical documentation.
• Production & Incident Support: A proven record supporting production environments and handling major incidents
   

Nice To Have

• Experience in GxP, or validated systems.
• Familiarity with legacy Windows systems, PowerShell automation, domain migrations, vendor management, or setting up new support services.
