We are building a connected platform for an insurance business: a CRM, a live calling and routing system, and AI-assisted workflows. Parts of the system are already serving real users and calls. We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to turn this working foundation into a reliable, maintainable product that can be released and expanded with confidence.

You will work directly with the founder, who owns the product vision and business priorities. You will own the technical approach: understand the existing systems, make architecture decisions, write and review code, guide other developers, plan safe releases, and take responsibility for resolving production issues.

The platform spans a React/Next.js and TypeScript CRM; Supabase/PostgreSQL, SQL functions and Edge Functions; and Python voice services connected to LiveKit, Twilio SIP, transcription and AI providers. Calls and customer records must remain accurate across these systems. We also operate separate business databases that require consistent changes without mixing customer data.

Your first priorities will be to map the current architecture, identify the few issues that materially threaten reliability or delivery, establish clear testing and release practices, and lead the team through production-ready milestones. This is an implementation role, not an advisory-only architecture position.

You will lead the technical delivery of the platform while remaining hands-on across frontend, backend and production systems. A major part of the role is bringing the CRM interface to an enterprise-ready standard: improving layouts and workflows, establishing consistent components and design patterns, and implementing polished, accessible screens—not just making them function.

Must have

• Substantial experience personally building and leading production web applications—not only managing developers.
• Strong TypeScript/React experience and the ability to work across frontend, APIs, PostgreSQL and backend services.
• Experience designing reliable event-driven integrations: handling missing, duplicated and out-of-order events without losing or corrupting records.
• Strong SQL, database migration, access-control, data-integrity and production-debugging skills.
• A track record of leading releases, reviewing code, improving tests and investigating incidents using logs and live evidence.
• Clear written and spoken English, sound technical judgment, and willingness to explain tradeoffs to a nontechnical founder.
• Reliable overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours; the exact schedule should be agreed before hiring.

Especially valuable

• Python/FastAPI, Supabase, Next.js, real-time communications, SIP/telephony, Twilio or LiveKit.
• Experience with AI-assisted products, speech transcription, monitoring and alerting.
• Experience leading a small distributed team while remaining hands-on.

You will have genuine technical ownership, direct access to the founder, and the chance to shape a product that is already being used—not spend months on a presentation that may never launch.
