Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector (Hardgoods) to strengthen our Vietnam Quality Team and support our supplier network. This position is essential in ensuring that our suppliers consistently meet the highest quality standards. You will conduct detailed on-site inspections at partner factories, collaborate closely with suppliers, and help safeguard our commitment to excellence in high-tech sporting goods sourcing and production oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• On-site inspection execution: Perform in-process and final inspections at supplier facilities during sample making, pilot runs, and mass production.

• Sampling & judgement: Apply approved sampling plans, Acceptance Quality Limits (AQL), defect classifications, and inspection severity or switching rules in accordance with company procedures.

• Reporting & documentation: Issue clear, timely inspection reports with defect data, photos, measurements, and disposition (pass/hold/rework).

• Measurement & test data collection: Use precision tools (e.g., calipers, gauges, torque tools) to capture objective evidence and verify tolerances.

• Pilot-run and FPY evaluation: Collect and verify First Pass Yield (FPY) data during pilot runs, identify major and recurring defects, and support Quality Engineers and suppliers in defining improvement actions.

• Corrective actions follow-up: Follow up with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Verify implementation and effectiveness on-site, and escalate overdue or ineffective actions to the supervisor or responsible Quality Engineer.

• Factory self-inspection governance: Review factory self-inspection outputs for completeness and accuracy; spot-check critical points and close gaps.

• Cross-functional alignment: Partner with Product Developers / Quality Engineers to clarify inspection criteria, defect definitions (critical/major/minor), and acceptance limits.

• Supplier coaching: Provide practical guidance to factory QC/production teams (inspection method, defect recognition, process checks) to reduce repeat issues.

• Supplier assessment support: Assist with supplier qualification, technical, quality management, social accountability, and supply chain security assessments under the lead auditor or supervisor’s guidance.

• Issue escalation: Escalate critical quality, safety, or shipment-risk issues promptly with clear evidence and recommended containment actions.

• Other responsibilities: Support quality-related tasks and special projects assigned by the supervisor.

Education

• Diploma or above in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.

Language Skills

• English: Professional proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking; able to write technical inspection reports and communicate with regional teams.

• Vietnamese: Required

• Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese): Strong advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5+ years in quality control / quality inspection in a manufacturing environment (supplier-side or brand/third-party).

• Experience in helmets, protective gear, eyewear/ goggles, sporting goods or consumer hardgoods is preferred.

• Familiarity with global compliance / safety expectations (e.g., CPSIA / CE / DOT / ECE) is an advantage.

Skills & Attributes

• Comfortable with high travel frequency and factory-based working conditions.

• Frequent travel is required to supplier factories across Vietnam and, as business needs evolve, to other countries in Southeast Asia (e.g., Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and others as required).

• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or overtime as production schedules require.

• Strong knowledge of AQL sampling inspection (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 or ISO 2859-1).

• Solid understanding of production flow, workmanship risk points, and practical quality controls (in-line gates, containment, re-inspection).

• Ability to read and interpret drawings/specs, workmanship standards, and product requirements.

• Proficient with MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook) and disciplined in data accuracy and reporting.

• Mature communication style: able to be firm and persuasive with suppliers while maintaining a professional working relationship.

• Fast learner with a strong ability to grasp product knowledge quickly.

• Able to work independently with strong ownership, integrity, and attention to detail.
