Key Responsibilities

• Support the build-up of a dedicated product merchandising function for the Vietnam market, as product strategy and assortment decisions transition from the Singapore regional office to a Vietnam-specific commercial merchandising strategy.

• Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis (sports, fashion and general market trends) to inform decisions on distribution channel, product assortment, pricing and launch timing.

• Develop and manage product assortment plans for the Vietnam market, ensuring the product mix reflects local market demand.

• Monitor product performance against sales data (sell-in, sell-through, stock levels) and recommend assortment adjustments accordingly.

• Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute product strategies aligned with market needs.

• Coordinate with Visual Merchandising teams to ensure products are presented effectively in partner stores and online channels.

• Manage product pricing strategy and seasonal line transitions.

• Attend seasonal product strategy meetings in Japan to understand upcoming global/seasonal product direction and localize it for the Vietnam market.

• Liaise regularly with distribution partners and internal stakeholders to capture market demand signals.

• Coordinate with suppliers/vendors as needed to support timely product delivery, in collaboration with relevant internal functions.

• Prepare consolidated merchandising reports and act as the primary point of communication with Global HQ in Japan on MD-related matters.

• Contribute to establishing MD processes, tools and reporting standards to lay the foundation for a long-term Vietnam MD team as the function scales.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Experience / Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in commercial merchandising / product planning, of which a significant part is in the sports brand industry. Both brand-side and distributor-side backgrounds (e.g., international sports retail/distribution groups operating in Vietnam) are considered.

• Commercial merchandising / product planning experience is required – a sourcing or procurement-only background does not meet this requirement.

• Demonstrated experience in developing product strategy (e.g., assortment planning, market strategy formulation, product range strategy), clearly reflected in the CV.

• Strong understanding of the Vietnam market, with proven ability to independently formulate market strategy.

• Strong analytical skills; able to translate sales and market data into actionable assortment and pricing recommendations; proficient in MS Excel.

• Good command of English (spoken and written) to communicate with regional and global HQ teams.

• Comfortable operating in a build-from-scratch environment with significant ownership and limited existing local infrastructure.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
