Function/Department description

The Research and Development (R&D) Department is responsible for innovating and optimizing processes to improve productivity and efficiency while reducing costs. This includes developing new procedures, enhancing current processes, managing and visualizing data using tools like Power BI, and addressing raw material issues by developing supplier areas and ensuring the quality of raw materials.

Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Process R&D Optimization Manager, the Process R&D Optimization Engineer is responsible for implementing improvement projects in the factory and optimizing equipment processes. This role includes performing detailed calculations and simulations before implementation, continuously updating new technology solutions and applying them in the factory, collaborating with the team to improve processes, and supporting the factory team as needed.

Main Responsibilities

The Process R&D Optimization Specialist (Engineer) responsibilities are to

• 1.                   Implement improvement projects: Plan and execute improvement projects in the factory to optimize production processes and equipment.
• 2.                   Optimize equipment processes: Evaluate, improve, and optimize processes and equipment to enhance performance and product quality.
• 3.                   Perform calculations and simulations: Conduct detailed calculations and simulations before implementing new solutions.
• 4.                   Update new technology solutions: Continuously update and implement new technology solutions in the factory's production processes.
• 5.                   Collaborate with teams: Work closely with other teams to improve processes and resolve arising issues.
• 6.                   Support factory team: Provide technical support and consultation to the factory team as needed.
• 7.                   Problem-solving: Analyze and resolve issues related to production processes and equipment.
• 8.                   Evaluate performance: Measure and evaluate the performance of processes and equipment to identify improvement opportunities.
• 9.                   Ensure compliance: Ensure that processes and equipment comply with regulations and quality standards.
• 10.                Report and track progress: Report progress and results of improvement projects to the Process R&D Optimization Manager, and monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
• Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the manager.
• Scope of authorisation / decision making
• The Process R&D Optimization Specialist is authorized to manage and resolve issues related to the IoT project, implement new technology solutions, and make recommendations for process improvements. Major decisions and strategic changes require approval from the Process R&D Optimization Manager.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a science-based field (e.g., Automation, Engineering).
