About the job

Saafehouse builds technology that supports secure cash, asset and client-money operations, including reconciliations, approvals, payments, reporting, document management and integrations for developed financial markets.

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our growing in-house engineering team in Vietnam. We are bringing ownership of our fintech platform in-house: you will learn the existing platform, work alongside our engineering partner during the handover and deliver full-stack features across frontend, backend, data and deployment.

Your core focus is full-stack development with a product mindset. You will understand the user and business goal behind the work, contribute practical ideas and take responsibility for delivering reliable software, not own product strategy or solve every problem alone. You will report to and receive technical guidance and support from the Head of Engineering, and work day to day with the Product Owner.

Location: Hybrid at Saafehouse VN office, Da Nang.

Your Skills and Experience

 

Your responsibilities

• Deliver full-stack features across frontend, backend, data and deployment.
• Work with the Product Owner and Head of Engineering to turn product goals into clear scope, technical tasks and acceptance criteria.
• Learn the existing platform and work alongside our engineering partner during the handover.
• Build new product modules while protecting the reliability of the core financial system.
• Write maintainable code, automated tests and useful technical documentation.
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability and release safety as part of normal delivery.
• Support releases and production issues with the wider engineering team.
• Review and take responsibility for all code you submit, including code produced with approved AI tools.

 

Your skills and experience

• Experience building and shipping production web applications across both backend and frontend.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and a modern Node.js framework, plus practical experience with React or a comparable frontend framework. Our platform is built on modern web technologies, relational databases and AWS cloud services, with Git and GitHub for day-to-day development. Deep expertise in every component is not required, but you must be able to learn an existing system quickly.
• Good engineering fundamentals in APIs, relational databases, automated testing, code review, security and production support.
• The ability to understand an existing system, investigate incomplete requirements and ask the right questions before implementation.
• A product mindset: you consider the user outcome while working within priorities set by the Product Owner and technical direction set by the Head of Engineering.
• Clear communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with developers, QA, product colleagues and external partners.
• The ability to design and deliver larger features, make sound technical trade-offs, review others' work and support less-experienced engineers.
• Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to work directly with UK leadership.

 

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or another regulated environment.
• Experience with event-driven systems, third-party integrations or multi-tenant products.
• Experience in a vendor-to-in-house transition or working alongside an outsourced engineering partner.
