Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for managing and controlling all manufacturing-related financial activities in an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) environment, ensuring accurate production costing, inventory accounting, import/export compliance, customs reporting, and timely financial analysis to support business operations.

This position acts as a key interface between Manufacturing, Inventory, Logistics, Customs, and Finance to ensure compliance with EPZ regulations while maintaining accurate financial records and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.

• Maintain product, assembly, and project costing.

• Analyze actual versus standard cost and investigate variances.

• Monitor scrap, rework, and yield-related costs.

• Support cost reduction initiatives and manufacturing efficiency improvements.

• Provide financial analysis for management decision-making.

2. Inventory, WIP, and Finished Goods Control

• Monitor and reconcile Raw Material (RM), Work-in-Process (WIP), and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI).

• Verify material consumption and production transactions in the ERP system.

• Support cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities.

• Analyze inventory accuracy, inventory aging, excess, obsolete, and slow-moving materials.

• Ensure proper inventory valuation and FIFO practices where applicable.

3. EPZ Import / Export and Customs Compliance

• Maintain accurate accounting records for imported materials, exported products, and customs transactions.

• Reconcile customs declarations with ERP and accounting records.

• Support reporting requirements for customs authorities and government agencies.

• Monitor bonded inventory and duty-exempt materials in accordance with EPZ regulations.

• Coordinate with Logistics, Purchasing, Inventory, and Customs teams to ensure compliance with import/export procedures.

• Support internal and external audits related to customs, trade compliance, and EPZ operations.

4. Production Financial Control

• Review production orders, material issues, labor transactions, scrap, rework, and inventory adjustments.

• Analyze manufacturing variances and investigate abnormalities.

• Monitor the financial impact of engineering changes (ECO), material substitutions, and process improvements.

5. Month-End Closing and Reporting

• Prepare monthly reports for inventory, WIP, FGI, manufacturing cost, and variance analysis.

• Reconcile inventory sub-ledger with general ledger accounts.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities.

• Provide manufacturing financial performance reports to management.

6. Audit, Internal Control, and Compliance

• Maintain complete supporting documents for manufacturing and customs transactions.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, customs regulations, and EPZ requirements.

• Support internal audits, external audits, customs audits, and government inspections.

• Develop and improve internal controls related to inventory, manufacturing, and import/export activities.

• Gender: Male/Female, age 24–35

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Experience: More than 2 years of relevant accounting experience

• English: Basic to intermediate English communication skills.
