Lucy in the Sky, an established U.S. womenswear e-commerce brand, has an existing design and product-development operation in Da Nang and is now expanding to Ho Chi Minh City with a second design studio focused on the next stage of a sister brand.

The new brand focuses on women broadly in their mid-20s to mid-30s, with a product world built around modern social and occasion dressing — dates, parties, dinners, travel, and celebrations.

The aesthetic should feel feminine, confident, sensual, and elevated, with stronger sophistication in silhouette, fabrication, proportion, and styling. It should not simply feel like an older version of Lucy in the Sky.

An initial moodboard, customer direction, and early product ideas already exist. We are looking for a Design Lead who can take that foundation and develop it into a clear, recognizable, and commercially relevant product language.

This is not a concept-stage fashion project. The role sits within an established U.S. fashion business with existing e-commerce, product development, sourcing, and production infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Define and continuously develop the brand's product and design language.

Research international womenswear, emerging silhouettes, fabrics and relevant cultural trends.

Develop coherent collections and capsules rather than isolated individual designs.

Create and review sketches, color, fabric and product-development proposals.

Decide which concepts should progress into sampling and clearly explain the reasoning.

Work closely with patternmakers and sample makers through fitting and product refinement.

Balance strong creative ideas with customer relevance, price positioning and commercial potential.

Eventually guide additional designers as the Ho Chi Minh City studio grows.

Who We Are Looking For

Strong contemporary womenswear portfolio with a recognizable design point of view.

Excellent understanding of silhouette, proportion, fabric, fit and feminine product.

Experience developing collections from concept through physical sample.

Ability to work from a creative direction rather than a finished design brief.

Strong independent judgment and ability to present and defend design decisions.

Commercial awareness without losing creative originality.

Experience with an established or independent fashion brand is welcome; the commercial size of the previous employer is less important than the quality of the work.

Working English sufficient to discuss and present design direction.

Approximately 5+ years of relevant womenswear experience preferred, although an exceptional portfolio and demonstrated leadership ability are more important than title or years.
