• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using dbt Core to transform raw data through Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers following Medallion architecture principles.
• Build and optimize Snowflake data models including Data Vault 2.0 (hubs, links, satellites) for audit/compliance and Star Schema (facts, dimensions) for BI performance.
• Implement data ingestion workflows from multiple sources (IoT sensors, GPS, CAN bus, battery telemetry, smartphone data) into AWS S3 landing zones.
• Configure and manage AWS services including S3, SQS, EventBridge, and Lambda for event-driven data processing.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with schemachange for automated Snowflake object deployment and dbt pipeline orchestration.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and testing frameworks within dbt to ensure data accuracy and trustworthiness.
• Support BI integration with Qlik Sense as the primary reporting tool, with future expansion to Tableau, Looker, and Power BI.
• Collaborate with the Data Architect on data catalog implementation using dbt schema.yml as the single source of truth.
• Participate in performance tuning of Snowflake warehouses for ingest, transform, BI reporting, and ad-hoc query workloads.

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role.
• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with Snowflake (warehouses, stages, streams, tasks, Time Travel).
• Hands-on experience with dbt (dbt Core preferred) including models, tests, sources, snapshots, and documentation.
• Working knowledge of AWS services: S3, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, IAM, and Glue (or equivalent ETL tools).
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Understanding of data modeling concepts: Star Schema, Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), and ideally Data Vault 2.0.
• Streaming , AWS Kinesis -> Experience with Streaming process (Kafka, AWS Kinesis Data Firehose)
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal). Japanese language ability is a strong plus.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-time zone team (Japan, Vietnam).
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with attention to data quality and operational reliability.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and methodologies.
• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 modeling (hubs, links, satellites) in a production environment.
• Familiarity with Snowflake security features: RBAC, row-level security, dynamic data masking, and network policies.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations: APPI (Japan), GDPR (EU), CCPA (US), or PDPA (Southeast Asia).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms.
• Exposure to BI tools (Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI) from a data engineering perspective.
• Experience with Okta or similar identity federation solutions for access management.
• Prior experience working with Japanese clients or in a Honda/automotive industry context.
