Role purpose

Support the Quality Manager in controlling product quality across supplier factories, from incoming materials to finished goods. Spend regular time on the factory floor, prevent recurring defects and help production teams maintain clear, practical quality standards for steel and polyrattan furniture.

Key responsibilities

Production and supplier quality

• Plan daily factory visits and inspection priorities with the Quality Manager. Review incoming, inline and final inspection results against approved specifications, samples and customer requirements.

• Identify risks before volume production. Follow up on trial runs, first production approvals and changes to materials, construction or production methods.

Steel frames and surface finishing

• Check tube dimensions and wall thickness, cutting, bending, welding and jig accuracy. Verify frame geometry, stability, assembly fit and the removal of sharp edges or weld defects.

• Monitor pretreatment, corrosion protection and powder coating. Check coverage, thickness, adhesion and curing against approved process requirements, including difficult areas around welds and joints.

Polyrattan and weaving

• Verify approved wicker specifications, material recipes and batch traceability. Monitor extrusion settings, profile dimensions, colour consistency and relevant material test results.

• Check weaving pattern, tension, spacing, attachment and finishing against approved samples. Follow up with off-site weaving teams and inspect products when they return to the factory.

Testing and finished product checks

• Coordinate strength, stability, durability, corrosion and weathering tests required by the customer. Check that methods, equipment records and results match the approved test plan.

• Verify hardware, feet, assembly instructions, packaging and product protection. Maintain clear inspection evidence and escalate failures before shipment.

Corrective action and team development

• Investigate defects and customer claims with suppliers. Agree corrective actions with named owners and deadlines, then verify effectiveness on later production.

• Maintain SOPs, inspection checklists and defect reference samples. Coach QC inspectors and factory teams, and report quality risks and overdue actions to the Quality Manager.

Decision authority and working relationships

Place suspect materials or products on hold and request containment or reinspection. Escalate safety concerns, failed tests and repeated defects immediately. Product release, concessions and specification changes follow the Quality Manager’s delegated approval authority and any required customer approval.

Work closely with factory production teams, supplier management, product development, merchandising and testing laboratories. Support the Quality Manager with inspector coordination and cover agreed responsibilities during their absence.

• At least five years of relevant quality experience in furniture manufacturing, preferably including two years of team coordination or supervision. Direct experience with steel and polyrattan outdoor furniture is strongly preferred.

• Practical knowledge of welding, jigs, metal pretreatment and powder coating, together with PE wicker extrusion and hand weaving. Able to recognise defects and trace them to production conditions.

• Able to read technical drawings, bills of materials and product specifications. Confident using measurement tools, inspection sampling plans and customer acceptance criteria.

• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, supplier improvement and clear inspection reporting. Able to train inspectors and explain requirements to factory operators.

• Vietnamese and working English suitable for factory discussions, reports and communication with international colleagues or customers.

• A technical diploma or degree in engineering, manufacturing, materials or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

• Based in or willing to relocate to Quy Nhon, with regular travel to supplier factories and off-site weaving locations. Organised, hands-on and willing to raise quality concerns under delivery pressure.
