ABOUT BONBON

BonBon is a venture-funded mobility startup, backed by parent company Tasco, building product for the garage and car-owner ecosystem.

We are staying intentionally small in our first two years (around five engineers), optimizing for speed, ownership, and quality over headcount. As a founding engineer, you will own a product area end to end and help set the technical and cultural bar for everyone who joins after you.

YOUR IMPACT

You will own a major product area end to end, from a vague customer problem through architecture and implementation to running it in production, on services that demand high availability and consistent performance.

You work in an AI-first environment: you use advanced tools to design, ship, and improve reliability faster, and always verify their output. You partner directly with founders, product, and design, operate without detailed specs, and ship practical solutions without heavy process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own a product area across the full stack: web (Next.js / React), Go backend (Fiber / PostgreSQL / Redis), and the mobile app (React Native / Expo), from idea to production.
• Lead lightweight architecture reviews and write down key technical decisions.
• Set a high technical bar through code and architecture reviews, including AI-generated code.
• Drive practical adoption of AI-assisted tools, and verify what they produce.
• Work with founders, product, and design to turn ambiguous goals into shipped product.
• Build for high availability and low latency, and help shape engineering culture as we grow.

WORK LOCATION

This is a full-time, onsite role based out of our Ho Chi Minh City office at 66-68 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia (NKKN). We place a high value on in-person collaboration and building a strong in-office culture.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong fundamentals and a clear track record of ownership and impact, we weigh judgment and speed over titles and logos.
• Experience designing and delivering highly-available, scalable cloud systems.
• Backend in a managed language such as Go, Java, Scala, or C# (we build in Go).
• Comfort on the front end with React / Next.js (mobile a plus).
• A habit of integrating AI tools into real workflows and verifying their output.
• High ownership, low ego, clear writing, genuine customer empathy, and comfort with ambiguity.

University degree in Information Technology or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in full-stack development.

Experience working with one or more programming languages ​​such as Python, Node.js, Go, etc.

Experience using version control tools like Git.

Understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns.

Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team.

Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English.
